Professional Manuscript Editing for Fact or Fiction

Let Duke
help you!
Are you a writer?

Do you have a strong story but don't know
all the little details of grammar and punctuation?

Do you want to kick your writing up a notch?

You've put in the time – the blood, sweat, and tears. Now, at last, your book is finished!

It's fabulous!

But . . . is it ready for Prime Time?

You're going to be competing with other authors who think their stories are fabulous too.

What will give you the edge?

A good editor will help you make your work the best that it can be. If your writing has no grammar errors, no spelling mistakes, no typos, your Point of View never wavers, your formatting is correct, you don't duplicate favorite words or phrases, and so on, then you probably don't need an editor's help.

On the other hand, if you can't lay claim to all of the above, you're just shooting yourself in the foot if you submit an unedited manuscript.

I've heard some writers express doubts about this. They think the strength of their stories will get them in the door. Unfortunately, that's not the way it usually works. Find out for yourself . . . here's a link to a forum discussion of this very topic. Just click here.

The vast majority of authors – even Stephen King! – need the services of an editor. If you've determined you're one of them, your decision is simple:

Who will you hire?

When it comes to hiring an editor, what are the two things you need to know?
  1. Can this person do the job?
  2. Can you afford it?

Can I do the job you need done? Yes, I can – but don't take my word for it. Click Here to see what others say about me.

What's the cost? My rates start at $0.01 per word for line editing, which includes correction of grammar, spelling, proofreading, wrong word usage (such as your vs. you're vs. yore and their vs. they're vs. there) and typographical errors. More detailed editing takes more time and, naturally, costs more. Click here for the complete list.

Think you might need more than line editing? Don't worry, there are no hidden fees. Before we begin working together, I'll need an email with ten percent of your manuscript – beginning on page 1 – or the first twenty-five pages, whichever is less.

I'll go through it, return it with all edits marked, and give you a FREE estimate.

That way you'll know what you'll get for your money.

A professional manuscript is only a click away!
